Museum Staff: That’s 51 euros, please.

Tourist:. Do you take dollars?

 Museum Staff: I’m afraid not.

Practice the dialogue with your partner

The dialogue between a tourist and a passerby asking for directions to the police station because the tourist has lost their passport:

Tourist: Excuse me, could you please help me? I seem to have lost my passport, and I need to report it to the police. Do you know where the nearest police station is?

Passerby: Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. Yes, there’s a police station not far from here. Let me give you directions. Go straight down this road for about three blocks until you reach the main intersection. Then, take a left turn, and you’ll see the police station on your right-hand side.

Tourist: Thank you so much for your help! Is it easy to find once I get to the intersection?

Passerby: Yes, it’s quite noticeable. The police station building is large and has a sign with “Police” written on it in big letters. You shouldn’t have any trouble finding it.

Tourist: Great, I appreciate your assistance. Is there anything specific I should do when I get to the police station?

Passerby: When you arrive, explain to the officers at the front desk that you’ve lost your passport. They’ll guide you through the process of reporting it missing and provide you with the necessary paperwork to fill out.

Tourist: Understood. Thank you again for your help. I’ll head there right away.

Passerby: You’re welcome. I hope you find your passport soon. If you need any further assistance, don’t hesitate to ask.

Tourist: I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks once again, and have a great day!

Passerby: You too, take care!
